I, like most little girls, was obsessed with dolls as a child. One of the reasons I was so excited to have a little girl of my own was to watch her grow, and hopefully allow her to share in my passion for dolls. In fact I'm not really sure I ever grew out of dolls, I simply upgraded from play dolls to  collectibles. This is why JC Toys really stood out to me.

I was really excited to review the La Baby Doll with my daughter. However as soon as I saw it in person, I got that rush. It was one of the more realistic dolls I have come across for play and didn't really want her playing with it just yet. OK, I know what your thinking..I hated when my parents bought me dolls just to tell me I could look but not touch. However it really opened my mind in a way I couldn't imagine. Doll collecting not only paid for half my wedding but has brought me great joy over the years.


The La Baby doll is not a porcelain doll, it's actually a really great vinyl play doll. Coming with an adorable fleece outfit and wonderful lifelike detail like a quality wig and eyelashes. At 20" is a great size, in fact it's slightly bigger then most of my daughters dolls. Unfortunately for her I took a real liking to this doll. And while I won't keep it from her forever, I'm not ready for it to make it's way out of her room with writing all over her face.

I also want to make mention of the Mini Dolls Collection. I absolutely adore these dolls and an pretty positive they have worked their way onto "Santa's list" this holiday season.

I have also asked for a special gift for myself from my husband, the baby bear collectors doll form JC Toys. My daughter's nickname is bear and even though this doll is modeled after a baby boy, I have to have it! And I honestly mean that I have to have it!! Truth be told I was 100% positive by it's look that this was porcelain doll I was in complete shock to find out otherwise. However with four kids this is something I can display without the fear of it being yet another victim of a stray ball or dog!
