Celebrate Halloween With Doctor Dreadful Zombie Lab

On Friday we received the perfect toy for some Halloween play - The Doctor Dreadful Zombie Lab by Spin Master.
If you haven't heard of Doctor Dreadful and his disturbingly delicious experiments, I promise as a Mom you may be totally grossed out but as child you will have nothing but gross fun. With the Doctor Dreadful Zombie Lab you create horrifying treats that you can actually eat! With a few spoonfuls of mixture (included) and a few ounces of water, you can make brains bubble from the Zombies head, inject his eye socket with spiders and watch as his jaw rips apart and barf spews out right into a cup - Ahh yes, the perfect afternoon beverage.

OK, so I was not that brave and only took a bite of some zombie flesh. I'm not really sure whether to describe it as bitter or sour but it wasn't for me. Maybe I just could get past the fact I was "eating flesh". My kids however were totally grossing me out and slamming back cups of barf and daring each other to eat brains. Doctor Dreadful's Zombie Lab made for some great Pre-Halloween fun to really get you in the spirit.

Each Zombie Lab Includes:

• 1 Zombie Head with brain, forehead and eye mold
& stand
• 2 Tools (tweezers and measuring scoop/stir stick)
• 6 Pouches of Food
• 1 measuring Cup

Doctor Dreadful offers a variety of labs and creation station, that fit together to create the most disgusting lab around.

I liked the fact this was totally different from almost every other toy. It had a great gross element that really appealed to my boys, assembled with ease and was ready for play in minutes. It also brought out some creativity, even if it was in a gross manner ;-)

The downside was it was gross watching them consume brains, and barf even if fake. It didn't taste great ( from the one bite I managed to take) and has the potential for messy play.

Would I purchase additional sets? Yes, the boys already have added the Stomach Turner (which looks pretty cool as well) and the Bug lab to their holiday list.

Buy It: Doctor Dreadful's Zombie Lab can be purchased for the SRP of $24.99 at Toys R Us, Walmart and more.

My son has one of these and he always made the most disgusting concoctions. He had a great time with it though.
