Does your child love to build and create? K'nex offers the next generation of building sets available for a variety of ages. Children love to create and build and by doing so they are able to inspire creativity and build self-confidence.
K'nex was generous enough to send a few different building sets, for my children. Each set was sent with an individual child and their age group in mine. K'nex offers sets for preschoolers ( ages 2+) up to children 9 and up - really creating a set for everyone.
One of the sets we received was the Pirate Ship building set and it was the first project we took on. It is recommended for ages 7 and up so I figured this would be a great starting point.
This set is equipped with over 190 K'nex rods, connector as blocks. I recommend giving your child ample building space and laying all the items out prior to construction. This set is one of many to complete your own amusement park. I'm sure your all familiar with the pirate ship ride at the local fair. Now your child can create a miniature version! Once complete the set even rocks back and forth.
While my oldest son really impressed me with his building skills, I was a little disappointed in myself. Some of these sets pieces are tiny and were hard for my hands to grip. However like I said my son seemed to have no issues. With that said though, I would be careful if you have small children in the house, with the small pieces.
I was excited to see the finished creation and my son is really insistent on completing his amusement park. I have no problem with that. As these sets keep him quiet and occupied for quite some time.
The Underseas Friends Building Set was great for my daughter. This set is recommended for those 3 and up. Featuring 48 building pieces including blocks, rods, connectors, personality parts, and NEW KID'NEX figures, your child can simultaneously build two giant fish, a scuba diver, swimmer, and other underwater attractions! These pieces were larger and more younger kid friendly.
All and all we had a great experience with K'nex. We have also sorted through the website and added a few sets to their Christmas lists. We also received a Top Gear set but we haven't dug into that one yet ;-)
Have your kids tried K'nex? Do they like them? Do they have a favorite set?
