Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies Recipe

We have been making these forever, they are a household favorite. Just incase anyone hasn't tried them - You must! They are good.


Peanut Butter Cookies


What you need:
1/2 c Sugar
1 3/4 c Flour
1/2 tsp Salt
1tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c PACKED Brown Sugar
1/2 c shortening
1/2 c Peanut Butter
1 egg
1 bag Hershey's chocolate Kisses


Combine ingredients (except kisses) in large mixing bowl, and blend on low speed. Shape dough into balls. Sprinkle sugar on a sheet of wax paper and roll cookie through, place on greased cookie sheet. Bake on 375 for 8-10 minutes. Remove and immediately press Hershey's Kiss in the center of cookie. Cookie will crack and "blossom".  Allow to cool

This has been a favorite for years, around teh Holidays as a kid I remember rolling them in red and green sugar to make them look festive for the holidays

Our oven is a little finicky. I am not sure the cookie would be soft enough to press the candy into it.
