What Is More Important - The TV Stand or The TV In It?

My husband has that typical male fantasy of having a huge TV. You know one bigger then our home. Obviously that isn't happening, but every year I keep promising he can upgrade and every year something more important comes up.

Well this year we have to do something. In a house with six TVs they all seem to be going at once. I personally don't spend a ton of time watching TV and almost never watch TV in the living room, so I really don't care to much what kind of TV he gets. What I do care about, is what kind of entertainment center we get to go with it.

I have so many nick-knacks, that I want something with glass cabinets and shelving to display them on. I would also like it to have room for our DVDs as we have quite a collection. Most TV Stands I found don't come with both options anymore. It seems the more TVs slimmed down, so did TV stands and the features that went with them.

I was able to find a few beautiful entertainment centers with plenty of display room but they lacked media storage. Then I came across the Riverside Furniture Ambiance 60 Inch Pier Cabinet Entertainment Center - and I was in love.

Not only is it a simply beautiful piece, but it has multiple features that I was crazy about like; Accent lighting highlighting a beautiful top glass shelf, touch lighting and full extension library media storage drawers and each side of the unit.

Of course my husband is arguing that we should be checking out corner TV stands for flat screens. He made need to re think the TV he wants to purchase because my mind is more then set on this beautiful entertainment center. Oh and he may need to take on a night job as well ;-)

We have the flat screen that hangs over the fireplace in our family room and I hate it. I started out thinking I would love it because I wouldnt have to have a cabinet. You still have the box from the dishnetwork, and the playstation 3 and all of that to deal with so you might as well just go with the entertainment center I think. At least there is a place to hide all that mess then.

Hmmm.. I have been wanting a flat screen (not that I will ever get one) but I might have to change my mind. I have a lot of knick knacks too.

We totally need to re-do our entertainment center. I need to block baby off from everything! This one looks like a nice way to hide everything but yeah, too big for this house!

Ha ha! I'm with hubs on this one! Though we (by we, I mean I) built around the flat screen so it's just what I wanted. You're right on the shelving for pretties and storage....must haves!

the stand is beautiful, but won't need the stand if you don't have the tv
