Team Umizoomi Preschool Math Kit {Review & Giveaway}

My daughter should be attending Pre-K this up and coming school year - I have yet to decided if she will go since it isn't close. In either case it is very beneficial for her to start the learning process in a little more detailed manner, this summer. My main issue is finding fun curriculum to keep her interested.

When I was contacted about a possible review for the Team Umizoomi Preschool Math Kit, I was very interested. My daughter loves this hit Nickelodeon show, and it seem to be very close to the kinds of programs I wanted to get her involved with.

Nickelodeon worked with a team of educational leadesr to help develop this program. Their goal was to provide curriculum that would address areas of math that help lay the groundwork for Kindergarten. The Team Umizoomi Preschool Math Kit uses hands-on interactive teaching tools to keep you child involved.

The Team Umizoomi Preschool math kit includes: a 48 page workbook, a storybook,  24 mighty math mission cards, activity book, Umizoomi DVD, pencils, and eraser.
I really though upon opening the kit my daughter would go straight for the DVD, but she was really excited to see the activity and work book. She first wanted to sit down with the workbook. The workbook brings to life curriculum covered in Umizoomi, setting up problem solving. I wasn't sure where my daughter would stand with some of the work. I was please to see her grasp it so well. In fact it was nearly impossible to get this book away from her. She probably complete both books in record time.

The activity book was also a favorite of hers she really loved the feeling of getting something correct as was proud to show of her work. I did have to read her the "rules" to each page, but after that she was on her own. This book was based on reinforcing math skills -with activities like drawing 3 scoops of ice cream on one cone, and five on another.
Overall, I was happy with the kit, and even more happy with the fact my daughter enjoyed it to the point no page was left undone. In fact she even made me erase a few so she could do them again.

Okay I may be showing what a complete newbie I am, but I am not sure what stumble a post means?

However, I will say that my 2 year old also seems to go for the workbooks and such faster than some of the DVDs. It surprises me most times too.
