Bedroom Furniture for the Princess

I finally got my husband to agree it's time to give my daughters room a makeover. I still have her in a princess toddler bed, mostly because she rarely sleeps in there. She has "promised" that if she gets some new bedroom furniture she will start sleeping in there. I guess only time will tell.

She was very excited to pick out a new bedding set and found a fairy bedding set she fell in love with! So we went ahead with it. Her room is pink and purple, with white trim. Ideally I would like to go with furniture with a white finish. I found a nice white platform bed with storage underneath - which is perfect since she doesn't have a ton of room in her bedroom.

Her bedroom dressers are in good shape but won't match if I go with a white finish. I would like to save room by just getting a 5 drawer set and utilizing her closet space more for clothing as well.

We are on a ever tight budget and have ton of things that need updating or replacing around the house at the moment. So of course I am trying to find the best deal by searching around for chests or drawers for sale this holiday weekend. I found some great pricing for Independence Day! I wish I could take advantage of them.

It's really important to me, that I make the right choice and find a quality furnishing that will grow with her. I don't mind changing her "theme" around over the years but I would prefer to be able to get away with the same bed frame, dressers, etc. I'm really trying to keep that in mind because I can be impulsive and buy based on how cute something is at times. There is an adorable Princess bed I have been dying to buy since she was born, but I keep having to remind myself she may not think it's so cute when she is thirteen or so.

What my main goal is for her to adjust well, I would love for her to love her room and sleep in it! My children all sleep in my living room - I guess they feel more secure? I don't know, but it drives me crazy! I just want to create a nice area for her without breaking the bank. When we finally make the big transformation, I will be sure to share pictures.

I think the princess set would be cute. Just wait until she is a teen and takes down her bed to "express herself." :)

When in doubt (or on a tight budget) there's always Ikea! Still my favorite.
