Step2 Play & Shade Pool- Just the right size

One thing I have yet to get used to in Florida is the heat. I keep begging my husband to get us a pool, but until he caves it's indoors for me, and kiddie pools for the children. With four kids you can imagine we need to get rather large sized pools to fit them all, but sometimes it's a little much for my youngest daughter.

The Step2 Play and Shade Pool is Just the right size for toddlers that want fun in the sun. This was a pretty fun pool compared with our past pools. Now it is a smaller sized toddler pool, but of course my big guys had to try and climb in, and they did look a bit silly.... However for my daughter and even my youngest son this pool was great!

My kids have VERY fair skin and with the hot Florida sun it is very important they have maximum sun protection. The Step2 Play & shade pool, is just that, a fun play pool offering built in shade in the form of an umbrella. A super important feature for my family.

The Step2 Play & Shade Pool offers many fun features and convenient set up. Featuring Hard Plastic pool, two molded seats, a non slip grip bottom, sturdy umbrella for sun protection, and 3 funnel cups and spinning water wheel that attach to the umbrella post.

Assembly required sliding the water wheel and funnel cups onto the umbrella pole, and inserting pole into the side of the pool with the use of two screws. It only took about 2 minutes and my daughter was ready for some fun in the sun!  There is a cup that is left out, which attaches to the side of the pool for easy storage. Toddlers can use this cup to pour water and activate the water wheel. My daughter really enjoyed this feature it added a little more fun to traditional water play. The umbrella is a great size to keep her almost fully protected from the sun.

Recommend age for this pool is 2 and up. I would recommend this personally as a great starter pool from about 18mth (with ADULT supervision) to 3 years. Over that space may become a factor. I also don't see why you couldn't fill this pool with sand in the chillier months. I think having the built in seating would make for great sand play as well!

Overall I was again not let down by Step2. Anyone that has been following me knows I have a Mommy top 5 brands list. I always have to mention Step2 has topped that list for me throughout four children with quality, fun, durability and engaging products from babies on up. That looks like something my youngest would love. It's nice and shallow and the water wheel looks like fun too. That's a good price too considering step2 toys last for years.

This would be perfect for my 2 year old. Both my boys are so fair skinned that I always worry about sun protection for them!

I reall love the shade on this pool! I get so concerned about sun exposure for my baby that I hate to take him outside sometimes... I would definitely buy this over another pool toy just b/c of the shade. But I like the toys attached as well. And not a bad price! Awesome review! TY for sharing it :)

That looks like a great pool for little ones. I like your idea about using it for sand play too.

Oh how FUN! My babies have fair skin as well and get burned easily. I love the idea of the easy assembly and the umbrella. Cool!
