UVSunSense Wristband Review

Now for some of you, you might be thinking it's to cold to be thinking about sun protection. But as a Mother of four fair skinned children in Florida, we are always thinking about sun protection. It never fails, no manner how many times I apply sunscreen my kids are always getting burned. So I was intrigued about the UVSunSense Wristbands.

What Are UV SunSense Wristbands?
The UVSunSense wristband is, a new, easy-to-use tool that helps people avoid overexposure to harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun.The UVSunSense wristband is a sun-sensitive gauge. Wrapped around a user’s wrist, the wearer then applies sunscreen to their body – as well as the wristband – before going about their outdoor activity. The band then changes color to let the wearer know it’s time to reapply sunscreen – or to get out of the sun. It’s really that simple! UVSunSense is designed to work with sunscreens of SPF 15 or higher, and will change color at different times depending on the SPF level. UVSunSense is designed to be used in salt, fresh or chlorinated water, and in showers – thus giving an accurate reading after outdoor activities like swimming, running or just playing in the backyard.

We got the opportunity to try this out last weekend at the local fair. My kids were pretty good about wearing them which made me happy.

The Wristbands start off white, then turns purple when your exsposed to the sun indicating that it has been activated. When it transitions to a lavender color, the wearer needs to immediately reapply their protective sunscreen. If the band turns whitish again, the wearer should get out of the sun completely, having approached the recommended daily limit of UV radiation.

Now I said my kids were fair ,and it's no lie that when it turns white again they should be removed from the sun. We of course went through all the stages right back down to white. I however didn't think they were getting burned and wasn't sure how well his bands were working. Well they did get a bit of a burn at least my older two did.

We won't leave the house now for any extended period of time with their UVSunSense Wristbands. I also learned my lesson that white means time for some shade!

Buy It: You can purchase UVSunSense Bands at local retailers and plenty of online retailers for about 7$ for a package of 7.
