Heelys Skate Shoe Review

My oldest son has had an obsession with Heelys probably since they first came out. I always thought it was cool to see kids AND adult zipping across side walks in the sneaker/skates. Unfortunately for my son, and he would kill me for sharing he never quit got the hang of the whole skate thing and wears them as a sneaker, but still can brag he has Heelys ;)

Never heard of Heelys?
Heelys are the two-in-one shoe that lets you take life at your own pace. With the wheels out, the stylish designs perform and look just like any other shoe. When you easily put the wheels in, you roll at a different speed. Heelys are about exploring your freedom, unleashing the fun and empowering you to be fearless.

We were lucky enough to be sent two awesome pairs of Heelys. One pair for each of my oldest boys.

They are a great fit, and the boys love them. I would however recommend a size bigger then you or your child normally wears. There are so many styles to chose from, you are sure to find a pair to please. Each pair comes with either one wheel for each shoe, or two wheels for each shoe, as is the case for the new Heelys Hx2. They come with a "tool" to remove the wheel(s) and replace it with a plastic insert to convert them back into a sneaker.

Now both me and my children love Heelys for both style as a normal sneaker and for the fun of skating.

This was my middle sons first experience with Heelys and he is quickly becoming a Pro. Now of course wheels are not allowed in school, but I am under strict "orders" to bring the wheels with me when picking them up from the bus stop so they can "skate" home. We have a rather long walk home so anything the both entertains them, while providing them with some exercise, is A OK with me!

My middle son received the Heelys Megawatt's in Gun metal and white, with light up wheels! With a window in the outside sole and a ultra bright wheel that lights up blue when you roll, the mega watt is sure to draw attention. The wheel is self powered no batteries required. This was truly a unique and pretty darn cool function if you ask me.

My oldest so opted for the No Bones style heelys. Drawing inspiration from skate parks and covered with custom graffiti, these made for a perfect match to my sons style. The sole is slightly thicker so he appears and feels taller which he just loves!

As a Mom I have always been a Heelys fan. They incorporate fun, style and quality. As children, my kids have always been fans because they are "cool" and look nice ( in their words)

Buy It: You can purchase Heelys at various shoe retailers for about 59.99 prices may vary by style.

Thank you so much for posting this! When I was in college, these were HUGE and a bunch of guys would zip around campus on them. I'm glad they are fun for the whole family, and they are really good looking shoes, even without the awesome option of skating.
