We haven't had a scale in the house in forever. I believe that an important part of weight loss is obviously being able to keep track of your goal, see what your losing and to know where you are starting out. 
Even if it's only a difference of a half a pound a week being able to "see" that you are making progress can really help keep you motivated.
The Eat Smart Precision Digital Bathroom Scale enables you to keep track of your weight daily in standard pounds, kilograms, or in stone by a simple flip of a switch. This automatic scale works off 4 "AAA" batteries (included) and is activated by your weight. Simple stand on the scale  to activate, your weight will blink three times when your final weight has been calculated. When you step off the scale it will reset to 0.0 and automatically shut off.

One important factor is that once you calibrate your scale with initial use on a hard flat surface if you move your scale again, it will need to be calibrated again. Moving the scale around will cause fluctuation in your weight. I recommend choosing a spot for your scale and leaving it there.
