When it was time for Jace to start kindergarten I seriously considered holding him back an extra year and starting him at 6. I was comparing him to my older boys which was very unfair of me. I just felt he wasn't ready mentally, compared to my oldest two at that point. Jace had struggled with speech for a while and even potty training took WAY to long. I was concerned that there may have been "more" going on, and school would just be a struggle. He did struggled at the start which made me really worry that I made the wrong choice sending him. He has now come such a long way and is such a smart boy. He LOVES school!! I'm not sure what I am going to do during summer break because he is upset when the weekends come around and there is no school. His speech is perfect now, in fact he talks a little to much ;) And his teacher has helped bring him such a long way. He is even ahead of a lot of his classmates now. He also now has a strong foundation to start the first grade with. I couldn't be happier or prouder of him. I also learned to take my own advice and never compare children even your own. ALL children are different and ALL children learn and grow at different rate. Just be happy that they are healthy and happy...And take it one day at a time.
